Currently Reading: FW Extensions - Now Online
My new website FW Extensions is now online. This is the third version of a site I started five years ago, a labour of love. Its previous name was Fireworks MX Extensions, this site has now been upgraded for the Web 2.0 generation. As of yet I haven’t uploaded all extensions, I plan to upload one a day, to give everyone a chance to download it, rate it and then comment on it.
So if interested, make sure you grab the RSS feed, to stay up to date.
The only problem I seem to be having is a lack of NEW Extensions, is anyone creating extensions anymore? Does no one use Fireworks anymore? If not, why not?
I’ve always found that Fireworks is the first Image editor I go for, it maybe for a quick graphic or a make up of an interface, and its versatility is second to none. It can handle almost all graphics types. Don’t get me wrong, I use Photoshop for the more elaborate design or to sharpen an image saved from Fireworks. Photoshop will always be the more powerful and respected, but spare a thought for Fireworks.
If you haven’t tried Fireworks you should, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

I am using Fireworks a lot, but it seems it’s not so popular as Photoshop … your site will be definite bookmark for me … cheers!
I am still using Fireworks way more than Photoshop. This is because I haven’t run into anything that I could not “pull-off” with Fireworks. I use Fireworks for prototyping, mock-ups/comps, creating quick html click throughs, banners, flow diagrams, and naturally all of my web graphics and images. Still a big fireworks fan!
