Currently Reading: Server Gone Down Again!!!
February 10, 2008 - Categories: Uncategorized.
I have been online for just over two months and this is the third time my site has been down. It wasn’t for as long as the first two times and I did get notified, but still its annoying. I am using Media Temples Grid Server, and seriously looking for a new home for speckyboy.com.

Sorry to hear about your experiences with (mt)’s Grid Server. Virtualized hosting is a complicated thing. While I can’t speak for (mt), the company I work for (ServePath) also offers two types of Grid products: Grid Series and GoGrid (currently in private beta).
Depending on your site volume and needs, one may work better for you than the other. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions (I’m NOT a sales person…I’m the Technology Evangelist for the company).
BTW, I really like your most recent post about the Top 40 Free JavaScript and Ajax Code for Web Developers. That is quite a list and I will be sharing this with our Web Development team! (I will DIGG as well!)
Thanks,
Michael
i used mt for a few months and it was just ok. my main issue with the service was the really long load times. the page would just hang there, although it looked like it was trying to do something. about a month after i moved off the grid server they seemed to have a whole bunch of issues. luckily i got out in time.
i now use imountain.com and couldnt be happier. you may want to check em out. they should be around the mt monthly price.
great site, btw.
me too ha a bad experience with them and the GS
MT. is oversold used and Horrible IMO.
Go to Dreamhost.
Sorry to hear about your downtime of the server. Please choose your next server carefully, as we as webmasters should not ignore this important field. Have some look at server reviews on popular forums, you will get good idea
Have you changed server? Who’d you go with in the end?
I stayed with Media Temple. They have assured me there will be no more hiccups.

dude i recommend you hostmonster.com it just runs perfectly! =)
FYI. GoGrid went live today. You should give it a spin and see if it would meet your needs. You can have a server up and running in minutes without having to talk to sales. GoGrid
