The below ads range from the 1950s to the 1990s, the styles vary dramatically from one era to the next. But the best thing is looking at the computer specs and prices…and a very innocent looking Mr Gates!
If anyone has any more of these, send me a link and I’ll add them on to this article.

Thanks for the memories. One of my first jobs, ~1977/78, was working for these guys: http://rwebs.net/micros/TDL/systems.htm. Little did we know.

Have you ever seen the ad for word processing where the original draft was addressed to “Dear Mush-for-Brains”
at a clothing manufacturing company. The writer complained that
Mush-for-Brains’ factory had manufactured thousands of jackets with
cigarette burn holes in the sleeves.
The finished product is of course considerably revised.
If you have, do you know of a link where I could find it?

I’ve been looking for this ad for years – people look at me like I’m nuts when I utter the phrase “Dear Mush For Brains” and chuckle….
I’ve found it – ironically, google brought me to this blog, but I found the ad using Bing….

Yes, I remember the “Dear Mush for brains” ad. I wish I could find a copy. I remember it ended, “It will be a cold day in Calcutta, Mush for Brains, before you get a dime from us.”

Oh do I miss my first Apple ][ ! Countless sleepless nights trying to find the ins and outs of the basic programming language and using the lighting speed 1200 baud modem!
