Designers always seem to go that extra mile when designing there homepage, and rightly so (it is what potential clients will see). These are quite possibly the benckmarks from 2008 that have set the (very high) standards for 2009.

WOW! I’m not one to get excited too fast… these are all quite appealing at first glance though! Man that’s crazy… all of these have something I find appealing from typography, to white space, to their “grid-ish-ness”.

Not sure what made you pick these… whatever… nice snapshots of inspiration.

Hmmm… while I am not at all happy with our own site and will be redesigning it soon… I don’t find any of these to be more than just okay. Very clean, very nice but nothing that stands out.

I may be an anomaly… But I really like the old-school design agency designs. I find the new ones either minimalistic to the point of compromising UX… Or too flashy to the point of slowing down the browser. I believe websites need to be functional and give visitors what they need as opposed to displaying the use of the latest tech. What are your thoughts?
