Digital light painting is the technique that can turn a dull image into an amazing and vibrant work of art that conveys a sense of movement and energy. This effect nearly always works well on subjects that are stationary or static but can be very difficult to produce on animated subjects such as people. It does take a very skilled hand to digitally paint a person with light, this is were Tony Ariawan comes in and excels.

Thunderbird as a stand alone email client is not really that powerful, yet it can be useful for basic and not business use. What if you wanted more? What if you wanted a free alternative to the many overblown, commercial email desktop applications, can it be done? Of course it can. With the added inclusion of the many freely available extensions and addons it can bring this basic desktop email application many steps closer to becoming a viable alternative to the very powerful Microsoft Outlook or any other overblown and expensive email app.

There has been a vast improvement on new web design launches this week, what a difference a week makes. The major stand outs for me have been Hello from Carsonified and the Design is Kinky Studio, CSS and Flash design at its best.

A month ago we ran a competition to win a free book called jQuery UI 1.6: The User Interface Library for jQuery. Clearly, with jQuerys popularity and current cool factor, a lot of people wanted this book.
