This is weeks outstanding design has to be N.Design Studios redesign, with its beautiful illustration, lovely color selection and well structured layout making it a refreshing change to your typical blog design. The rest of this weeks designs are not too shabby either, just have a look.
By now everyone has heard of HTML 5 and its new functionalities. Pretty exciting isn't it.
Of course, there are two sides to this, most developers love it, others feel it has come to soon and we are not ready for it. What ever your feelings are on this issue, it doesn't matter, it is here, so lets work with it.
Iconshock had again offered us the opportunity to have an icon-set exclusively designed for our readers. This time we asked for a Wordpress folder structure icon set. There are four icons in the package, they are the the main Wordpress folder, WP Uploads folder , WP Plugins folder and finally, WP Themes folder.

Not having the same funds or resources of a web design agency can certainly be one of the downsides to working as a freelance developer or designer. Established web design agencies have the finance to be able to have expensive full blown usability tests on a project, they will have accountants to mange invoicing, managers to project manage and have multiple developers and designers to covering several different aspects of any given design.
As a freelancer you have to do it all!

The conservative web designer can design a dark web site or a light web site, and will design everything in between as gray. Are you this type of designer? Or, are you bold enough and brave enough to let your creativity rein free and allow bright and vibrant colors to shine through in your next design project? What does the level of color on your web site say about you? (I must be a conservative).
