I would use the business cards to fulfill the primordial urge to give a small token, made of paper, at the beginning of a business meeting or when meeting a current or potential business associate for the first time. But with these cards, I will have something other than scraps of notebook paper and religious pamphlets, upon which I have scribbled my contact information.

In addition, I will no longer feel the need to print my website and send copies through the United States Post Office to promote my business.

I would stand by a hillside waiting for a random bus full of nuns and blind orphans to slide out of control and cruise toward a cliff. Then use my brand new businesscards and flick them, hitting and puncturing the tires and stopping the bus. Then Tobey Magurie would ride in on a yellow dog saying “Nice throw” and then dissolve…*poof*

…Or as I would call it… a regular tuesday afternoon.

Who are we kidding here?? I would most certainly use my business for anything other than actual business!

Coasters, small frisbees and a small tray to hold my crumbs on. I’d use them as stocking stuffers, LED throwies, or use them to write pros and cons on. I’d write little poems and sneak them into peoples bags. I’d tape them together and use them as fans. I’d use them as spot markers and bookmarks. I could also leave them bundled and burn them when it gets dark.

These are just a few things I’d do if I ended up receiving some die-cut cards too.

Rather than use these to promote my business prospects, I would use said cards to improve my prospects with the ladies. Rather than use some corny line to get ladies’ numbers, instead I can just throw a card their way and coolly tell them to call me instead.

A lot of my customers are babies. Not whiny adults, but literally babies. I want them to spread the word about me, but I’m afraid that they’ll poke their little baby eyes out with rough-edged business cards.

With rounded edges, I can finally get the word out to the demographic that I’m really working towards (0 mos – 4 years).

I think this will work better and cost a lot less than my last idea – baby goggles.

You can’t keep goggles on a baby.

I’d have my business cards printed as appointment cards, then write a “meeting” date & time on them for every person I’d give them to. Now we’ve set a date. That gives me an excuse to follow people up from just giving them a business card! :)

I’m an OTR truck driver (48 states). This results in a lot of 5 minute friendships that are meaningful but fleeting, nevertheless. It would be great if I could leave a business card as a friendly way to say let’s stay in touch.

I would use the cards to either a) promote my design services in hopes of escaping the horribly un-satisfying job I’m currently in, or B) promote http://www.fuelinfusion.com (a website i designed) with the leaf die, because it’s a product that can seriously help reduce vehicle emissions across the world. A worthy cause :)

    Here’s hoping!

I have two identities – the real life one, and the virtual one. The latter is an active social media blogger and commenter, while the former is a talented management consultant. And as time passes by, I start realizing my online identity, which has already started working on socially responsible internet projects, would be very happy to get a business card. You know, giving a corporate business card to a fellow blogger and idea generator just seems wrong :).

    Uprinting and Speckboy
    Make marketing dreams come true
    by sharing the wonderful world
    of graphical goo
    from websites to icons
    logos to type
software and tuts are all a delight

And now, pretending that wasn’t enough
    the stakes are raised
    with free printed stuff?
Die cut biz cards of my own
    to show off and share…
To create a card just for me
    and not sate a client’s
    voir dire?

    Options are endless!
    A card of my own!
    A shape not so common
    …with textures I chose.
    Yes, a personal calling card
    would be the main use;
    a conversation starter
    ’bout speckboy and U (printing.com)

Well, first off, I would have my 12 year old nephew design them because he knows his way around macrodobe photodesign pretty well.

These cards would promote my business in an edgy, unique, classic, traditional, bold, minimalistic, sleek, hip, elegant way. We will mix all the greatest fonts in the world on one card so that it appeals to everyone. The color of each card will be the favorite color of each person receiving it.

Oh, that can’t be done? They all have to be the same?

In that case, we will make it rainbow, to cover all our bases.

We will include our mission statement on the front so that people know what our company is all about right from the beginning. On the back, a brief 3 paragraph bio of each our of top executives.

The front will also be animated (haven’t you seen that hologram stuff on the covers of notebooks?) – when tilted, it reveals a mini version of our website, so that our customers can brief themselves and be familiar with it before ever logging on. This will make the checkout process go much smoother, since they have already seen it and know how it works.

And of COURSE, our logo will be the largest feature on the front. It will be pure black, roughly 600 megapixels high. We already have a gifpg file prepared for this.

Frankly I’ve never had business cards, let alone the good kinds.

I think it is very cool to be able to open your wallet and swiftly take a card out and hand it to someone. Makes me feel like I am some authority even if I am the owner and sole employee of a brand spankin new photo business.

Also helps in lunch giveaways when I go to restaurants. I can drop in a few and feel a little ‘corporate’ about myself =)

I was actually writing a blog the other day about how awesome some of the business cards I’ve seen lately are. I also made a comment about how people have to have a decent amount of money to afford die cutting and all the fancy deviations from the regular boring cards (die cutting – embossing – impressions – UV spot printing etc.). Maybe not TONS of money, but certainly more than I have :p student loans are a bitch.

Die cut cards can give you the competitive edge and help inciting a lasting impression on those you give it to. I’d like some for my freelance business for sure, it that for some reason tanks, I could always use them as mini paint palettes for my oils, acrylics and ink pens, or to just practice the art of card throwing to hopefully take the place of bear mace as I walk through downtown at night. :D

Since I am just graduated and broke I must ride a bike to most of my interviews. Several of my cards will be used to stick in the spokes of my bike to make it sound as if I have a car when rolling up to my interviews. The rest will be used to hand out to prospective employers or thrown away when I say screw it and become a professional biker.
