PsDefaults Giveaway: Win 10 Sets of Custom, Hand-Crafted Presets for Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is one of the few programs that designers, developers, and photgraphers all use on regular basis. Wouldn’t it be great, then, if it were possible to dramatically imrpove the usefullness of this already-powerful program with one quick download? PsDefaults is working to create a product that will do just that — and they have generously offered to give 10 Speckyboy readers a free copy of their deluxe kit (normally $100 each).

All about PsDefaults & how to win your free set

For those of you who aren’t familiar, PsDefaults is a complete set of hand-crafted replacement presets for Adobe Photoshop. That means that next time you reach for a default pattern you won’t be greeted with the original blue bubble thing that Adobe includes — instead you’ll have an amazing collection of realistic wood, plaid, fabrics, and more. And the same applies to brushes, shapes, styles, and actions.

PsDefaults has just reached their goal for the project on Kickstarter and will ship the full product in late July. The winners of this giveaway will get the entire deluxe set for free as soon as it is released. Take a look at some of the included resoures and enter to win below:

How to Enter the Giveaway

There are two ways to enter this giveaway, either is fine:

  • Tell us your suggestion for a new Photoshop preset in the comments below
  • Mention the giveaway on Twitter or Facebook (we’ll search for it)

Good luck to everyone :)

Winners will be randomly selected on July the 16th. And don’t worry if you already pre-ordered on kickstarter: the PsDefaults crew will give you a full refund if you win.

If you want to preview the set before it is released, you can download a free sample Mini-Kit by signing up for the email list on the PsDefaults website.

I would suggest a new set of curves to apply to photographies.

For my taste, it lacks a few
”pixel stripes”  patterns of different sizes, also some more subtle textures like the famous linen. Otherwise the set is pretty useful overall. Actions are also a nice touch.

I really like some actions like ProductShotPro

  • Max

This is awsome, a really great Idea. This will save a lot oft time!
Maybe Adobe will use this one day as their preset ;)I hope so :)

  • Jacob Zacharia

I’d suggest a set of hand-picked brushes, maybe a collection of favorite brushes used by the creators of PsDefaults?

  • Rolandovelez13

How about a good set of 3d shapes and maps.

  • shankness

PS should get a set of commonly used UI elements. And even grunge patterns.

  • haim ifrah

well, CS6 is also good in 3D so what about some useful basic 3D models?
it also do video editing so maybe some image sequences for effects (flames, smoke etc…)
but most useful will be more costume shapes.

How about the ability to take a image, one with transparency, and turn it into a vector shape? I know for me, I use some shapes that I have to make myself, and would really like to be able to use them as a vector.

  • Adrian Voicu

As presets, I would like to have banner dimensions (I want just to paste banner mockups), and also to have default grids (960, blueprint 12 columns).

In digital magazine design I can see multiple uses for a brush (or brushes) that give the impression of a page being turned, for example :

If it were adjustable and in different angles that would be even better!

    Cool, i really like this!

My Idea – I know you already have layer styles / button sets, but what about styles for Internet Marketers e.g. Download Now buttons, Add to Cart etc. Nice optin form designs etc. Think this would be great if you could impement, and would also let you target your product to the Internet Marketing niche (as well as designers), who buy like crazy!

  • Carl Peterson

I would love to have a set of subtle texture patterns that could be used for background images.
