20 Free Material Design UI Templates & Icon Sets

Created and released by Google back in June, Material Design is an innovative visual language that has been designed to unify the user experience of all of their products across all devices, and has been built on the principles of successful design combined with technology.

So far you may have experienced the beautifully simple aesthetics of Material Design via Google’s Gmail, Inbox and Calendar mobile apps, and they have also started to roll it out to the desktop versions of Gmail, Drive and Calendar. And just as Apple’s iOS7 and Microsoft’s Metro changed the face of web and mobile design a couple of years ago with their flat-style OS designs, expectations are that Material Design will have an even bigger impact on current web and mobile design trends.

Material Design is still quite young and hasn’t quite spilled out into mainstream design. But it will. So we don’t have many live examples to show you, but what we can share with you is a collection of free UI templates that have been created by designers that have truly embraced the new Material Design visual language.

Google have also released a handy selection of Material Design design resources to help get you started, so before you scroll down to the design community created GUI resources, you might like to have a look at the official templates first…

…ok then, onto the design community resources…
