Maybe you wouldn’t call the current popularity of using circles in web design a ‘trend’. But it has become very, very popular. This popularity seems to be partly indebted to the popularity of mobile and touch screen technology, where a user typically has to press with their round finger tips circular or oval buttons.
Mobile aside, the circle is a powerful shape that does catch the eyes of the reader quickly and it makes sense to use it and, as you will notice from this gallery, they can be effectively used to highlight certain elements of a design.
