We have two copies of Google Plus First Look (paperback book) to giveaway – Leave a comment to enter

We have another fantastic book giveaway for you this week. Packt have given us two copies of the paperback book Google Plus First Look, written by Ralph Roberts, to giveaway to two lucky readers. All you have to do for a chance of winning one of these books is leave a comment below telling us why you would like this book.

Please Note: This competition is only open to readers from the US and Europe.

About the Book: Google Plus First Look: A tip-packed, comprehensive look at Google+

PhoneGap Beginners GuideGoogle Plus First Look shows you how to join Plus and the kind of initial setup that guarantees a successful and fun-filled experience. The second chapter shows you Circles, Google’s innovative bit of genius that has taken social networking to a new level of control over our own interactions.

We’ll see (and I do mean see) how Hangouts (video conferencing) works, and master Streams (where posts go). Sharing photos and video is the easiest you’ve ever seen, and you will see it in Chapter 5. Nor do you have to leave Plus at home, in Chapter 6 we take our social networking with us on our smartphones. Photos and videos upload automatically, ready for sharing. Finally, we learn how to promote things the right way, the polite way on Plus. This book serves as an indispensible reference to all that and more.

You can also download a sample PDF chapter by clicking here.

I’m a teaching asistant at a college in NY for a Social Media and the Arts class.  I would love a copy of this book. G+ is not a platform we teach.  We don’t know eneough about it yet and I have only started using it a few months ago.
I’m studying Arts Management and will be doing my Senior paper on Social Media Promotion of Visual Art.  It won’t be finished until I graduate in May of next year.  I would love to have it as all-inclusive as possible.
Thanks for the opportunity to receive a copy of your book.  Social Media had become my passion, and I intend on running a Social Media Marketing company for visual artists and galleries when I am finished with my education.

I’m excited about that book, as I mentioned over at G+, because it shows what passionate online collaboration can achieve. It also shows how G+ can be a valuable tool in such efforts. When so many social media tools are focused on the most frivolous uses, pander to the lowest common denominator, and are infested with manipulative promotion, G+ is encouraging ethical promotion of issues and of organizations — and sharing tips on succeeding at it.

I still have not set up a G+ business profile. I have been using my personal profile. It would be great to win this book and learn all of the facets of google plus!

  • TechStorm

I’m currently a web developer with almost 15 years under my belt. Even though I make a good living at this profession I decided to start studying SEM and SEO techniques to service my customers better, and/or possibly change professions. I’m not talking about all the basic information you read on the internet, white hat – black hat junk……..I’m talking about strategies the pro’s use in the real world that come from years of experinece! Any small tips related to Social networking would greatly help me with my studies. Considering Google is constantly changing, upgrading and moving forward it’s easy to miss even the basic techniques, and a book for reference always comes in handy. I can really use this book to my advantage and help my customers leverage Google+ more accurately.
