    Currently I’m programming a new web based rss reader. I haven’t found a free and good rss reader, which can be installed on the own webspace. So I decided to programm an reader by myself. It base on Zend Framework, and uses the jQuery library and jQuery UI. This reader will be published in english and german licenced on GPL and be free for everyone. And it will support priorities and multimedia content (for reading also fotoblogs or following deviantart user and more). A first preview can be found here:

    While attempting to teach the benefits of jQuery at a larger company I need all the additional weapons I can get. This will not only make a great reference book but it seems to have a good sense of girth to it and could potentially knock out all those that do not want to learn.

    first and for all, i am the first commenter, proving that i am a loyal reader of ‘the boy’, second: i have this one assignment for a family photo-album website, and they want all these nifty effects so i said i can do that with JQuery, only i don’t know how and i said i would figure it out and it’s no problem, but the little girl wanted to see the website right now, but i said i still have to develop it and then she started screaming and throwing dolls at me violently, so i ran away and i am currently hiding in a closet under the stairs and … oh god here she comes!! help me for the love of god i need that goddamn JQuery book!!! oh dear, oh no i think she found me! help!!!! aaargh arrh the aaarrgh book plz aaargrh!!!

    Now, however, it seems all the cool kids are doing jQuery. I decided what they hell, don’t knock it till you try it. Thats why I need this book!

    I’m recently began as the manager of a web development team. They have been working very watterfal/rup using Symfony and YUI. I’ve been fighting against it and trying to make the team more agile using faster development tools.

    Teaching them JQUI will do that and lending them the book will make that faster.

    We also need more Air twitter clients, and everyone using JQUI is also a great way to find the holy grail between a lot of beta twitter clients developed in air and JQUI

    I need this book because i just can’t get around to putting my website up. It’s been in development for over 3 weeks, and once it’s done, with the help of jQuery, I could finally display my hand drawn, crappy cartoons about Swine Flu, which would quite possibly (thouhg it is quite unlikeley, admittedly) help raise awareness of the disease. And we all know that knowledge of a subject kills it.

    Paper is awesome, and things made with paper are awesomer, and things made with paper that is glued together and have little bits of black spots on their interior surfaces with shiny orange spots on their exterior surfaces are awesomer still, especially so when those black spots mean something about something digital.

    And if I had such an awesome thing, I would love it and treasure it and pet it and call it ‘George.’ And I would read it and learn from it and put its principles into practice and keep it safe in a nice little nest I constructed from old egg cartons the kind made from paper not the kind made from plastic and some of that crinkly easter grass that is made from plastic but is blue and green and has one or two of those black jelly beans in there still because i don’t like to eat the black jelly beans so much no i prefer the jelly beans that are not black the green ones are nice and the red ones are nice and the orange ones that are orange like the cover of the book are especially nice.

    Funny story here…so I go to this book store, and I’m looking through all the books that might help me become a better developer/designer, and I buy jQuery UI 1.6: The User Interface Library for jQuery…seriously, because really, what good is a site without a sweet UI. I’m walking home, proud as a peacock when all of a sudden this ray of light beams down and this little dude is at my feet looking up. He tells me that if I don’t give him my book, that he will do unspeakable things to me, he’ll force me to use tables and never create a liquid layout in my life, he will force me to use courier and comic sans for every navigation area I ever try and create, and worst of all, he will make me do all this in yellow and purple…so I think you can see my dilemma here, I had to give this little alien dude the book, and now I need it back, cuz he also took my wallet!
