10 Material Design Web Frameworks Worth Considering

What happens when you combine the principles of great design with the innovations of technology and science? Well, that is just what Google did, and created the concept of Material Design.

Simply put, Material Design is a visual design concept that brings together the principles and rules of classic design and the probabilities and norms of science or technology. Since Material Design is hugely popular, so are the tools and resources related to it.

In this post, we have put together some of the best web frameworks for your next Material Design styled web ad mobile projects.

Outdated ? Please, explain your point ?

Wow, thanks a lot for sharing my “attempt” of a Material Design framework.

I’m the author of Framaterial, it was a personal project, and as you can see, the documentation is not finished at all, you can find lorem ipsum everywhere.

I’m still glad to have been picked, and if some fellow designers & developers want to take a part in this framework developement journey, contact me.

The Framaterial project, is not “perfect” for production environments, it’s cool for prototyping, as well as “codepen or jsfiddle” experiments, but not much.

    Thank you again.

And isn’t it a good thing for exploration ? Inspiration ? Polymer is cool for sure, but letting the world play with Google Material specification is so much cooler.

Polymer is way more than just material design though… Typically, even small projects would have difficulty implementing it because it requires completely altering the way you think and write your app.

Then there’s support, which is NOT good. Oh sure, if you only care about the newest of the new browsers you’re mostly fine but most people still need to support the standard three versions back… so IE9/10/11 need to work.

If you can manage to get past ALL that, then you’ve got to get team buy in. I guess if you’re going to write on your own, that’s fine, you can waste your client’s time all you want but as for the rest of us, we have to convince the other people on our teams to change the way they’re thinking as well… AND the clients!
