This is an excellent collection of e-commerce designs. Designing for an E-commerce website can appear restrictive, because you need to leave space for the navigation and shop area, but the collection above prove that you can still create a very unique and individual site and that not all shop designs conform to a certain layout or style.

These are some amazingly great examples for good looking ecommerce.

It’s a shame that the most visually stunning projects are usually focused around iPhone cases and Lingerie though, and simple sites that sell everyday items like pet food are a little too underwhelming.

Some of the presented websites are created in Flash or using Flash elements in the design. As for me, Flash technology, if used wisely, can be a good solution even for eCommerce websites.

  For me, Flash can have a positive impact on a website if used appropriately. Subtle elements throughout the page tend to yield the best results. However, Nike’s ecommerce site is entirely Flash and it’s great!

I also like the simple ecommerce design of We Love Creativity. It’s built on top of Big Cartel (like United Pixelworkers above). They are both good examples of how Big Cartel can be customized.
