    well i dunno if the google logo has changed the colours are slightly different from whats posted here & what is on the google.com but i do know that the starbucks logo has changed to simply the mermaid

    Shell once spend millions of dollars by asking an advertising agency to do some research how to improve their logo. The advertising agency went away and 6 months later after discussion groups, hundred of designs, and the millions in their bank account they came back with the conclusion:

    Keep the logo as it is we can’t improve on it

    Nice way to earn a dollar

    A great collection of iconic logos; thanks for sharing. I
    started picking favorites but I love the majority of them. Its a lot easier to
    identify the ones I don’t really like: ebay, Google, and Pepsi.

     

    I’m admittedly biased about the ebay logo but I think it
    looks very generic and somehow tacky (which seems to be an epidemic amongst
    many companies that originated on the web).

     

    This version of the Google logo has the same generic tacky
    feel shared by the ebay logo but I like the version currently being used on the
    Google website. It’s very similar but there were subtle changes which resulted
    in a more refined design.

     

    The Pepsi icon is ok and the logotype isn’t really a
    problem. However, the white swirl swoosh thing seems weird…can’t quite put my
    finger on it but it looks like a creepy winking eye and sort of reminds me of
    the Wise Potato Chips logo.

     

    All in all a great list!
