I’ve been checking out these sites listed above and I’m very impressed. They are all so original and inspirational; it’s great to have a community on the web where designers and artists can share their work and promote a stimulating creative environment that helps fuels other artist’s ambitions.

I work for a Boston web design firm that has been looking for the best way to display our web designs. Professional on the web seems like a great solution to this– can’t wait to try it out.

Plz checkout http://www.viewbook.com — it’s a nice add to this article’s list and it’s free too!

Another cool portfolio tool is http://www.ahead.com. It’s based on a zooming canvas on which you can layout any file format (video, images, Adobe files, office files, pdfs etc.) as if working in eg InDesign.

The mind blowing thing is the zooming canvas where you can zoom into your work in high resolution (I’ve tried 100mb images and it rocks).

How about Jalbum? it’s more of a space to create a photo album but the array of skins and layouts available makes it easy to use, you can get as creative or professional as you want and you can create custom albums for individual clients.

Hey that’s a great list you’ve built up there and I really like the fact that you’ve included some sample portfolios too! It would be interesting to see some “cons” as well as the pros that you have listed e.g. I for one would count “flash based” as a con. Finally, another one for your list is Crevado – http://crevado.com/ really easy to use and they have free accounts too. Now I’m off to check out some of the ones you have listed that I never knew about! Thanks!

  • qp

I wish Behance Network didn’t have such a bulky top bar, with sponsers all over the side and bottom(on every page)…Every page seems so busy, and the art work gets lost…  but I guess that’s the only price for it being free.

  • Rovingteacher

While I admit most of the sites listed look very promising, some of them are highly directed towards a specific audience. I will share these with my students. Unfortunately, my background as a college professor causes me to “consider the source” while looking at nearly everything in life. The information was grand and eye appealing, I was buying in, ready to go for it whole hog and then I saw it In the second paragraph. One of the most common English language blunders.”In their own words: “A free platform for the worlds leading creative professionals”. There you go, nice and simple.”Please forgive me if I am missing the point, but when you put something out there for the whole world to see…I have tried to unsee (not a real word) it, but alas, I cannot.

  • John

Check out http://www.brushd.com too, pretty new but you can edit your html pages on it unlike most of those.
