Imagine a Universe where films such as Gravity, Reservoir Dogs and The Sixth Sense, have been created in a much earlier era and using actors from the golden age of cinema. Hard to envision, isn’t it. A Universe where Pulp Fiction was filmed in the 1960s and starred Charlton Heston and Harry Belafonte. Or, how about the sci-fi classic Aliens? But this time starring Pam Grier and filmed in a blaxploitation 70s style?
This Universe may not really exist, but illustrator and movie buff Peter Stults has dared to imagine. Over the last couple of years, he has contributed an alternative time and place movie poster to the print magazine SoFilm (only available in the UK, France and Spain), where he has taken a modern film and seemingly transported it back in time. I do love the Universe he has created. Here are our favorites:
