20 College & University Websites for Design Inspiration

Most college and university websites look exactly the same – mind-numbingly-boring. And this is exactly what you should avoid when you have such a wide variety of potential target users – people like current and prospective students, professors, investors, parents of students…

A web site is the public face of a university and really needs to have a user-centric design that puts your core message across in a highly appealing manner.

On that note I thought I’d give you some inspiration with what I feel are some of the better university website designs out there.

I have to laugh at Hagerstown Community College being listed here. I graduated from there and I have always found their site difficult to use. This new version is definitely nicer looking and better than the previous one but I still don’t find it user friendly and I’ve been in IT for 25 years.
